Scholarships & Grants

Monash Abroad Travel Scholarship

  • All students participating in a Monash approved International Study Program

New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants

  • $2500 < $6000
  • Eligible Asia Bound Short Term Programs only
  • Eligibility requirements apply
  • Rolling applications
  • Automatically assessed for grants on application to Arts Global Programs for eligible International Study Program

Monash Global Grant

  • $4,000
  • Based on academic achievement
  • Eligibility requirements apply
  • Applications open August – October and June – July
  • Apply through Scholarships Unit

Monash Global Equity Grant

  • $2,500 < $4,000
  • Based on need and academic achievement
  • Eligibility requirements apply
  • Applications open between August – October and June – July

Loans

OS-Help Loan

Monash Connect Loan

  • <$3,000
  • All Monash students studying at an Australian Campus
  • Eligibility requirements apply
  • Inquire and apply directly through Monash Connect

Centrelink

  • Dependent on individual circumstances
  • Students may continue to receive centrelink payments whilst overseas
  • Contact Arts Global Programs on acceptance into International Study Program to request a letter of support



Travel Insurance

All outgoing students will receive complementary travel insurance. To view the coverage, visit the Monash Abroad website.

 



Tuition Fees 

Faculty Led Study Tours 

Monash students will be charged fees according to their verified funding status. This fee will appear on your Monash Fee Statement.

Non-Monash students must contact arts-study-tours@monash.edu to enquire about tuition fees.

Exchange to a partner institution / Intercampus Exchange to Monash Malaysia 

Monash students will be charged fees according to their verified funding status. This fee will appear on your Monash Fee Statement.

Study Abroad to a non-partner institution

Students will not be charged fees by Monash for credit studied overseas and will need to pay tuition directly to their host institution.

Students will be enrolled into study abroad codes (ASA) that do not have any fees attached.



Refund Policy

Where Arts International Study Program (ISP) application and/or other program fees (excluding tuition fees) are paid to the University* and until the student’s Travel Insurance policy is active**, the refund policy outlined in the table below will apply:

*Where application and/or other program fees are paid to an external travel service provider, the cancellation and refund policy of the travel service provider will be applied instead of the Faculty’s policy.

**Once Monash Abroad has approved the student’s ISP application, the student’s travel insurance policy becomes active and students would need to make any relevant claims for refunds to the travel insurance provider.
