The Monash Bioethics Centre has a longstanding—and growing—collaborative research relationship with the World Health Organization (WHO). As of July 2014, the Monash Bioethics Centre has been designated as a World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for Bioethics, one of just 6 such centres worldwide—and part of a Global Network of such centres, with partners at University of Toronto, Columbia University, University of Miami, University of Zurich, and National University of Singapore.
In conjunction with the WHO Global Health Ethics Unit (in the Department of Knowledge, Ethics and Research), the Centre offers an annual Fellowship, enabling one Bioethics Masters student per year to undertake a 2 to 3 month internship at WHO headquarters in Geneva.
The Fellowship is usually valued at AUS$9,000 per year. For testimonials from past students on their experience with this fellowship/internship, visit the Monash-WHO Fellowship webpage.
