Creative Cities

The Master of Cultural and Creative Industries is located in Melbourne, Australia’s cultural capital and home to a thriving performance arts and cultural industries hub.

As part of your studies, you will have the opportunity to participate in the ‘Creative Cities’ unit (APG5068) where you will look at the use of art, culture, and urban rejuvenation using real case studies.

Creative Cities involves extensive field work in Melbourne and interstate, where you will work closely with the industry and policy specialists who have shaped cities and brought innovation to urban renewal. (In the past visits have included the Renew Newcastle urban redevelopment project and MONA (the Museum of Old and New Art) in Hobart, Tasmania.)

We also have an on-going project with a large scale creative space initiative in Melbourne, which is set to provide real-world experience for many of our students.
