Arts Graduate Coursework provides small grants to students undertaking a 24 point thesis as part of the their Masters by coursework degree to offset the reasonable costs that may be incurred in implementing the research design or disseminating the findings of a student’s research.
Funding is intended to support research-related expenditure as approved by Director of Arts Graduate Coursework and with full support and acknowledgement of the student’s Director of program. Therefore the application needs to have both your Director of program initials as indication of support in addition to the signature of the Director of Arts Graduate Coursework to go forward.
Common funding approvals include, but are not limited to, conference registrations, minor fieldwork or data collection expenses, thesis printing, and consumable items related to the research (e.g. postage etc).
Common funding exclusions include, but are not limited to, IT equipment (e.g. Laptops, computers, iPads etc), journal subscriptions, airfare costs for data collection purposes and passport renewals. Applications are assessed on the basis of tangible research outputs which should relate directly to the thesis topic and its content.
For reimbursements you will need to provide an electronic copy of a compliant “tax invoice”/receipt showing a zero balance as proof of payment.
The scheme reserves the rights to fund proportionally.
